About

This is why I am running: I believe that we have representatives in our state who have lost sight of the fact that they have been elected to represent us and not their own interests. The state budget grew by more than a billion dollars last year and yet the SC legislature claims that it’s “pork free.”  We have more than $13 billion in unfunded liabilities within the state pension plan and no plan for how to correct the problem. South Carolina business owners experienced a huge increase in unemployment tax last year because our state legislature failed to repay a billion dollar loan owed to the federal government.  Strong leadership is needed in order to turn things around. I will be a strong conservative voice in the fight to restore conservative principles to our state government.

About me: As a small business owner, I have personally experienced burdensome regulation and unfair taxation that has been placed upon businesses in this state.  The day that I received a property tax bill for the light fixtures in my office, I knew that our government was out of control.  I intend to be a constant advocate for business owners, taxpayers, and free market capitalism as your Senator.

I was born in Loris, South Carolina and graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School in 1987.  I went on to the University of South Carolina where I worked to put myself through college and graduated in 1991.  I worked first for corporate America before becoming an independent business owner in 2003.  My husband Bauer and I have been married for 12 years and have three amazing children, Ford, Ellen and Henry.

In addition to managing my own business and spending time with my family, I serve as Vice Chairman of the South Carolina Policy Council. I also serve as a board member on both the Historic Aiken Foundation and the Aiken Civic Ballet Company.  I am an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and have had the privilege of leading three mission teams to St. Petersburg, Russia.

I am excited about serving as your Senator.  I look forward to working for you to return our state government to one that is truly representative of you.  My promise to you is that you can always count on the fact that I will be “Standing on Principle – Fighting for You!”
